Accessibility Statement
Accessibility Statement
The Mühlviertel Tourism Association strives to make its websites and mobile applications accessible in accordance with the Upper Austrian Act on the Prohibition of Discrimination on the Grounds of Ethnic Origin, Religion, Belief, Disability, Age, Gender, or Sexual Orientation (Upper Austrian Anti-Discrimination Act – Oö. ADG) (§ 15b) as well as the Regulation on Accessibility Requirements for Websites and Mobile Applications under the Oö. ADG (Oö. WEBVO 2020), implementing Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council.
This accessibility statement applies to the following websites and mobile applications: www.muehlviertel.at, www.rennradhuegelwelt.at, www.johannesweg.at, www.stoakraftweg.at.
1. Information on Operation and Accessibility
a) Access Keys
To simplify page navigation, we have integrated access keys for important page areas into all pages. To avoid conflicts with existing operating system shortcuts, number keys have been assigned. The following access keys are available:
0 for the homepage
1 for navigation
2 for content
3 for contact
4 for sitemap
5 for search
6 for top of page
7 for legal notice
8 for breadcrumb navigation
Depending on your browser and operating system, use the above-mentioned key in combination with a special control key:
Internet Explorer: Alt + [Key]
Firefox: Alt + Shift (Windows and Linux) or Ctrl (Mac) + [Key]
Google Chrome: Alt (Windows), Ctrl + Option (Mac), or Alt + Shift (Linux)
Opera: Shift + Esc opens a context menu listing the available access keys. Confirm with Enter.
b) Responsive Web Design
Due to responsive web design, our website is optimized for a wide variety of output devices (mobile phones, tablets, desktop computers). Content elements (e.g. images, page layout, size) are automatically optimized for the best possible readability and adapted to the respective screen size.
c) Keyboard Navigation
The main menu can be operated using the keyboard (up, down, right, and left arrow keys). The image gallery (lightbox) can be closed using the ESC key. For accommodations, gastronomy, tours, sights, etc., tabs and accordions can be expanded or collapsed using the Tab and Enter keys.
d) Accommodation Search
Please note the increased loading time when searching for available accommodations for a specific period. Various accommodation providers are queried during this process. Accommodations can be filtered according to different criteria. There is no "Submit" button. Accommodation data is automatically reloaded.
2. Compliance Status
These websites and mobile applications are partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 – AA and the accessibility requirements according to DIN EN 301 549 V2.1.2, edition 2018-08, due to the following incompatibilities/exceptions.
3. Non-accessible / Partially Accessible Content
The content listed below is not or only partially accessible for the following reasons:
a) Incompatibility / Disproportionate Burden
PDF and Word documents (especially older documents) used on the websites are not accessible. If you require content from one of our PDF or Word documents, please contact us. We will endeavor to provide the information in another format.
The videos used on our websites are currently not accessible. Adapting them represents a disproportionate burden within the meaning of accessibility regulations. We strive to make the videos accessible as soon as possible.
All images should be accessible to screen reader users through alternative text. If, in exceptional cases, an image is not described with alternative text and the content is therefore only partially accessible, please let us know.
We strive to write our texts largely without abbreviations and foreign words. We also avoid complicated sentence structures. If you find a text difficult to understand and therefore only partially accessible, please contact us. We will try to provide you with an easy-to-understand version.
Lists such as accommodation lists, event lists, gastronomy lists, POI lists, offer lists, local and regional lists, and report lists are based on structured data from TOURDATA and are currently only partially accessible. If a website user applies a filter to a list, the result contents are automatically reloaded (using AJAX functionality). This poses a problem for visually impaired users who use screen readers, as screen readers do not detect changes to content that has already been read. Improvements to our lists were planned for 2021.
b) Content Outside the Scope of Applicable Legislation
Recorded time-based media, such as video and audio media, published before September 23, 2020.
Interactive maps are currently not accessible. According to current technical possibilities, making these maps accessible would require a disproportionately high effort.
Third-party content: Our websites are partially based on content from a decentralized tourism database. Our content partners are requested to provide texts and media in an accessible format. However, no statement can be made regarding the compliance of this third-party content with accessibility regulations.
c) Other Information
Spam protection / reCAPTCHA: To protect our contact forms from spam and mass emails, we require a so-called "reCAPTCHA" function. This function is not accessible. If you are unable to use a form due to this function, please send us an email at info(at)muehlviertel.at or call us at +43 5/07263.
4. Feedback and Contact Information
The Mühlviertel Tourism Association places great importance on the continuous adaptation and optimization of its websites and mobile applications. If you have questions about using the website or suggestions regarding the content, please contact us by email at: info(at)muehlviertel.at.
We will review your request and inform you of the result as well as any measures taken or planned within 2 months. Requests concerning content of websites and mobile applications that are exempt from accessibility requirements and are not accessible will also be answered within 2 months.
